Ahmed is an associate at Derains & Gharavi, specialised in international arbitration. He has acted in institutional arbitration proceedings conducted under several arbitration rules (notably ICSID, ICC, CRCICA, DIAC, LCIA and PCA) as well as in ad hoc proceedings conducted notably under the rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
Ahmed has represented clients, including States, in arbitration proceedings governed by civil law and common law as well as in post-arbitration proceedings. He has handled arbitrations related to disputes in a wide range of industries, particularly in the sectors of sales, commodities, defence, energy, oil & gas, construction, hotel management, telecommunications, transport, aeronautics, industrial transfers, corporate, joint ventures, banking & finance and waste management.
Ahmed has also advised clients prior to the initiation of arbitration proceedings and has conducted settlement negotiations.
Ahmed holds an LL.M. in Private International Law and International Trade Law from the Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University, an LL.B. in international business law from the Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University and an LL.B. in law from the Cairo University.
