Margaux is an associate at Derains & Gharavi, specialising in international arbitration. She represents States, State-owned entities and companies in commercial and investment arbitrations, as well as in set-aside proceedings before French courts. She has acted in arbitrations conducted under the ICC, ICSID, HKIAC and UNCITRAL Rules, across a wide range of sectors including the construction, energy and mining sectors.

Prior to joining the firm, Margaux represented African governments and State-owned entities in commercial and investment arbitrations at an international law firm in Paris. Her experience included advising on public international law, development projects and legislative and regulatory reform, particularly in the maritime sector. Margaux also spent several years practicing in Dubai, representing public and private sector entities in arbitrations as well as set-aside, recognition and enforcement proceedings before onshore and offshore courts.

Margaux holds an LL.M. and a Certificate in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from Georgetown University Law Center. She also holds a Master’s degree in International Law from Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Master’s degree in Public International Law and a postgraduate diploma in International Economic Law in Africa from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas.

Margaux is admitted to the Paris Bar and the New York State Bar.
