Counsel to the Republic of Albania in an ICSID arbitration related to an alleged investment in the oil and gas industry (Mamidoil Jetoil Greek Petroleum Products Société Anonyme S.A. v. The Republic of Albania – ICSID Case No. ARB/11/24).

Counsel to Joseph Lemire, an American investor, in an ICSID arbitration No. ARB/06/18 against the Ukraine for breach regarding an investment in the radio industry leading to the Decision dated January 21, 2010 in favor of Joseph Lemire on jurisdiction and liability obtained on March 28, 2011, an Award in the amount of 8,717,850 USD, with partial legal costs in the amount of 750,000 USD. It is the first international award holding a State liable for breach of international law in relation to tenders, namely in the case at hand for the award of frequencies in the radio industry.

Counsel to Joseph Lemire in the annulment proceedings of the underlying Award.

Counsel to the Republic of Togo in the ICSID annulment procedure only (i.e. not in the underlying arbitration that led to the challenged Award) No. ARB/06/7 against Togo Electricité and GDF Suez E.S. concerning a dispute related to an electricity concession.

Counsel to Rumeli/Telsim, a Turkish entity, in an ICSID arbitration No. ARB/05/16 against the Republic of Kazakhstan concerning State expropriation of majority shares in a telecom joint venture in Kazakhstan (Award dated July 2008 in favor of Rumeli/Telsim in the amount of 125 million USD plus 40 million USD in interests. Award rendered on July 29, 2010.

Also counsel of Rumeli/Telsim in the ICSID annulment proceeding against the award that led to the dismissal of the annulment application by ICSID Committee decision dated March 25, 2010.

Counsel to the Republic of Turkey in a 19 billion USD ICSID arbitration No. ARB/07/20 initiated on the basis of a bilateral treaty by a Dutch national for alleged expropriation of an investment in the telecom industry (largest ever ICSID claim leading to the an Award dated July 14, 2010 in favor of Turkey dismissing the claims with full costs for lack of jurisdiction.

Counsel to the Republic of Albania in an ICSID arbitration No. ARB/07/21 based on a bilateral investment treaty against a Greek Company for alleged unfair treatment and denial of justice against an investment in the construction industry leading to the award dated July 30, 2009 in favor of the Republic of Albania.
