Hamideh Barmakhshad is a foreign lawyer at Derains & Gharavi specialised in international arbitration. She has acted as counsel and arbitrator in commercial arbitrations. She has been involved in commercial and investment arbitration proceedings conducted under the arbitration rules of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), ICC as well as UNCITRAL.  Her practice covers the fields of intellectual property, construction, trade, tourism and energy sector. She also regularly drafts and negotiates international contracts.

Hamideh is a member of the Legal and Arbitration Commission at the Iranian National Committee of ICC. She is also a member of the ICC Task Force on Climate Change and Arbitration and of the ICC Task Force on Arbitration and ADR.

Hamideh holds a Ph.D. in International Law from the University of Dundee and an LLM in International Finance and Banking Law from Queen Mary University of London.

She is admitted to the Iranian Bar.
