Onur is an associate at Derains & Gharavi specialised in international arbitration. Onur has acted in proceedings conducted under the arbitration rules of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), in ad hoc proceedings under the UNCITRAL rules as well as commercial arbitration proceedings under the arbitration rules of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Prior to joining Derains & Gharavi, Onur was a lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, focusing on the right to a fair trial in civil court proceedings and sports arbitration proceedings as well as the right to property. Onur also worked at a law firm in Istanbul, where he advised local and international companies and lenders on the construction, development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects.

Onur is admitted to the Istanbul and to the Paris Bars. He is also s a qualified solicitor in England & Wales (non-practising). He holds a Master’s in Economics and Finance from Bogazici University in Istanbul and an LLB from Galatasaray University in Istanbul.
